The Faculty of Law and Labour Sciences, through the Coordination Unit for Language Standardisation and Policy, is organising the 1st Xosé Luís Franco Legal Research Prize in the Galician Language.
Within the institutional regulatory framework that protects the Galician language through the Spanish Constitution, the Statute of Autonomy of Galicia, as well as the Law on Linguistic Standardisation and the University of Vigo’s own Statutes, which state that Galician is the University’s official language, this initiative and this award are established with the aim of promoting the Galician language.
Thus, this award aims to strengthen the process of linguistic revitalisation at the University and to encourage the use of our language in legal research work.
